Bulgaria Extension
Day 1: Bucharest / Ruse, Bulgaria / Ivanovo Monastery / Arbanassi/ Veliko Tarnovo
From Bucharest take a morning train which will take you across the Danube into Bulgaria. The Bulgarian tour guide will meet you at the train in Ruse and after customs clearance you will proceed with a panoramic tour of Ruse with its Viennese architecture. first stop is Peles Castle, the breathtaking former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. A ride across the Danube River then brings you into Bulgaria. From there drive south to the rock Ivanovo Monastery before arriving to the picturesque village of Arbanassi. The afternoon highlight is the visit to the Church of Nativity, richly decorated in fresco. Continue to the nearby town of Veliko Tarnovo - the ancient capital of Bulgaria. Walk in the old centre on Samovodene Street where many artisans have their workshops. A view of the Tsarevets Fort is included.

Day 2: Veliko Tarnovo / Kazanlak (Thracian Tomb) / Plovdiv
Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Leave Veliko in the morning driving thru the Bulgarian countryside to Plovdiv passing the picturesque Rose Valley, we'll make a stop in the town of Kazanlak at the world famous Thracian Tomb you'll get an up-close view of Hellenistic frescoes dating back to the 3th century BC. Continue thur the picturesque Valley of Roses where the world famous Bulgarian rose oil is produced. Afternoon arrival to Plovdiv - Bulgaria's oldest town. Enjoy a walking tour of the old center before checking into your hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 3: Plovdiv / Rila Monastery / Sofia
Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a scenic ride on the way to Bulgaria's most famous monastery: Rila, listed on the World Heritage. This religious settlement was founded as early as the 10th century by St. Ivan Rilsky. It always was a center of Bulgarian culture. In the afternoon arrive to Sofia, the capital of the country. The panoramic city tour will take you to Alexander Nevski Cathedral as well as to all places of interest.

Day 4: Sofia departure
Hot buffet breakfast at hotel. In the morning transfer to Sofia International Airport for your return flight.

Black Sea and the Danube Delta
Day 1: Bucharest / Constanta / Tulcea (Danube Delta)
Early morning departure to Constanta, the largest sea port on the Black Sea. A city of 330,000 people and the Black Sea's largest port, Constanta was established in the 4th century BC as a Greek colony. The drive from Bucharest will take approximately three hours, crossing the Danube into the region of Dobrogea and driving along the (in)famous Danube-Black Sea Canal. The city tour of Constanta will take you to the Secession Casino and the Genoese Lighthouse. Later tour the Archeology Section featuring the fabulous Glykon Serpent and the wonderfully restored the Roman Mosaic - one of the largest in this part of Europe. In the afternoon drive to Mamaia - Romania's largest sea resort, established by King Charles of Romania in the second half of the 19th century and then continue north to the town of Tulcea located right at the entrance to the Danube Delta. Hotel check in. Dinner on your own.

Day 2: Danube Delta Cruise / Bucharest
After breakfast, embark a small ship for a four to five hour private cruise into the Danube Delta. Start your cruise on the Tulcea Canal then off to Nebunu Lake through narrow canals. A great opportunity for bird watching and to admire nature. Return to Tulcea around 2:00 pm. Drive to back to Bucharest. Arrive around 6 pm. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
